Parrot Jungle - Miami, Florida

"Chow Time" at the Parrot Jungle
Five o'clock at Maimi's famous Parrot jungle means only one thing to the birds - supper.  They enjoy an assortment of seeds and nuts, and a fruit salad consisting of bababas, apples, and grapes.  The Parrot Jungle is one of Florida's outstanding sightseeing attractions.

These beautiful Purple Capped Lories are native of New Guinea, but now make their home at Miami's famous Parrot Jungle.  Their beaks are soft and therefore diet on mostly fruit, vegetables, and flower nectar.

Beautiful Cockatoos fly about freely in Florida's famous Parrot Jungle near Miami.

Tropical Hobbyland - Miami, Florida

Waterfall at Tropical Hobbyland
These young Seminoles have found a cool spot in the beautiful gardens of Tropical Hobbyland, world-famous tropical zoo and Seminole village, N.W. 27th Ave. at 15th St., Miami, Florida.  The gardens are kept in "Flower Show" condition the year 'round by a crew of expert gardeners, and give many visitors their only opportunity to become closely acquainted with the many unique and beautiful flowering shrubs, plants and vines that have been transplanted here from tropical zones all over the world.

Like Father, Like Son!
"They're never too young to learn," is the motto of Henry Bert, one of the alligator wrestlers at Tropical Hobbyland Seminole Village, N.W. 27th Ave. at 15th St., Miami, Florida.  Henry is showing his son the tricks of the alligator wrestler's trade, just as his father showed him when he was a boy.  At Hobbyland exhibitions of alligator wrestling are held hourly, every day of the year.

Seminole Group at Tropical Hobbyland
Tropical Hobbyland Seminole Village, N.W. 27th Ave. at 15th St., Miami, Florida, is the home of this group of Seminole Indians.  They live here just as their ancestors have lived in the Everglades for centuries.  Hunting and fishing are the main occupations of the men, when not wrestling alligators, while the women are famed for their intricate needlework which produces the dresses and colorful shirts that you see here.
