Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan

Thouands of ships, large and small, pass through the "Soo" Locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan each season; allowing them to by-pass the St. Marys River rapids between Lake Huron and Lake Superior - a 21-foot difference in lake leveles.  In the background is the International Bridge connecting the U.S. and Canada.
