You still see the Scallop Shell in many places and used for many things. As you travel the highways you see the scallop shell emblem displayed in front of Gasoline stations, the trade mark of a Major Oil Company. In jewelry stores you see the design in silver saucers, bowls, platters, necklaces, and bracelets. The Scallop is carved in eighteenth century furniture, "Iron Lace balconies in the South, and corner cupboards in New England."
