This colossal rock, leaning over the deep dimensions of John's River Gorge, derives its name from the fact that at nearly all times a strong wind is blowing at this point. Here wind currents defy the laws of Nature, and it is said that if a light object, such as a handkerchief, is thrown from the rock, it will be blown back by the force of the wind sweeping up from the gorge below - "Believe it or not!"
