Flagler Street as viewed from Biscayne Boulevard.
Flagler Street named for the late Henry M. Flagler, extends from Biscayne Boulevard on the east through the heart of Miami to the city limits on the west. The downtown section of Flagler Street is noted for its fashionable shops, department stores, theaters and office buildings. Flagler Street is the dividing line of the city separating north from south, as does Miami Avenue separate east from west. Each year thousands of visitors travel this street going to and from various parts of Miami.
