Florida Keys

In 1937 the Overseas Road and Bridge Commission acquired 40 miles of abandoned railroad viaducts and roadbed.  these have been converted into highway bridges and a magnificent roadway which stretches for miles over the open sea to Key West, the southernmost city in the U.S.

the Green Turtle (Chelonia mybes) living in the warm water surrounding the Florida Keys, is widely renowned as an article of food and no trip to Florida is complete without eating a delicious green turtle steak.

The warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico merge here underneath the Seven Mile Bridge in the fabulous Florida Keys.

  1. OMG! If people thought they couldn't leave Florida without eating Green Turtle steak, we shouldn't be surprised their numbers diminished.
