Tallahassee, Florida

In 1816 Richard Keith Call, then a young officer under Andrew Jackson in Tennessee, wanted to come to Florida with Jackson to conquer the Seminole Indians.  In 1825, with brick made by slaves, General Call built this home for his wife for protection from the Seminoles.  Many writers made this charming place the scene of their books such as "The Home of the Tallahassee Girl" by Maurice Thompson and "Queenie Heatherton" by Mary J. Holmes.

This is the beautiful stone building which contains the Post Office and the Government Court House at Tallahassee.
