Lima, Ohio

This park and its numerous improvements was donated to the city of Lima in 1937 by Thomas R. Schoonover.  Besides a 25-acre lake for boating and fishing, there is a large modern swimming pool with bath house, locker and sanitation equipment designed to accommodate 1,000 bathers at one time.

South High School is of completely fireproof construction.  In the high school, a branch library, for not only students but adults as well, is maintained.  The school is equipped with an up-to-date gymnasium and auditorium.

Allen County Memorial Hall was built as a memorial to Civil War veterans.  It contains a large auditorium, seating 1600 persons, is the G.A.R., American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars headquarters.  The second floor houses the Allen County Historical Society's collection, which is highly valuable in historic interest.

Central High School and Franklin Grade School combined together with the administration offices of the City's school system, occupies one city block.  The school is equipped with a modern up-to-date gymnasium and auditorium.
