The ceaseless tide washes ashore hundreds of species of sea shells along the lower Gulf Coast of Florida.  Shells of brilliant colors are found here, the rarer species going to collectors and museums, while the commoner types are shipped by the barrel to manufacturers of shell art novelties.  Shell collecting is becoming a popular hobby.
