Oak Creek Canyon - Arizona

Mingus Mountain, U.S. 89-A
Travelers to the Valley of the Sun from Northern Arizona thru Oak Creek Canyon pass along this mountain rodway thru the mountain-side mining town of Jerome and add a never-to-be-forgotten page to their recollections of this wonderful state.

Famous Oak Creek Canyon Switchback Road - this picture shows only the 2 1/2 mile portion of U.S. Hwy. 89 Alternate halfway between Flagstaff and Sedona in which the most precpitous and spectacular climb takes place.  In this short distance our snake-like winding road drops 1,000 feet from the viewpoints at the head of Oak Creek Canyon to the bridge over Pump House Wash almost directly below!

Midgely Bridge
Oak Creek Canyon, Arizona
Spanning Wilson Creek, this graceful bridge carries traffic through colorful Oak Creek Canyon over Highway U.S. 89, north out of Prescott over Mingus Mountain through Jerome, Clarkdale, Cottonwood and up the canyon to Flagstaff.  In addition to breathtaking scenery, Oak Creek provides fine trout fishing.
