Florida

The Pelican Family
Greetings From Florida
A gorgeous bird is the Pelican,
Whose beak can hold more than his belican.
He can put in his beak, food enough for a week
But I'll be d__d if I can see how in helican.

Florida Moon

Florida's climate rivals the Italian Riviera.  Here winter's skies are always smiling, the beaches crowded with happy throngs enjoying December's breezes, as balmy as any May-day zephyr.

  1. So, the publishers of the postcard censored "damned" but kept "helican"?

That Florida moon illustration is the dreamy sort of thing I enjoy about Florida tourism from days of yore...

  2. I found that bit of censorship a tad odd myself.

It certainly evokes a sense of escape and serenity that is not found in the marketing of Florida today.
